Which women benefit from the scheme?
The Ladki Behen Yojana was launched in June 2024. Under this scheme, ₹1,500 is directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible women every month. This amount is proving to be a significant relief for many families. Certain criteria are met to benefit from the scheme: the woman must be between 21 and 65 years of age.
The family’s annual income must be less than ₹250,000. The woman must not be taking advantage of any other government scheme. The bank account must be linked to Aadhaar, and the Aadhaar information must be accurate.

The government conducts e-KYC every year to ensure that funds reach the right people and avoid duplication. Sometimes, even a small error on paperwork can delay payments.
